PIAM (Project for the Integration and Welcoming of Immigrants) is a secular association based in Asti, composed of Italian and immigrant social operators. Since 2000, its activities have focused on the social integration of women victims of trafficking and on immigration issues.

The Piedmont Region has one of the highest rate of street foced prostitution. The town of Asti is no exception in this sense: over the last years ,the number of street prostitues has increased by 25%. For almost 20 years Piam has been fighting to give these women a different future, without stigmatization and discrimination.

In full accordance with its original mission, the PIAM was accredited by the competent Ministries. Today it works alongside the institutions in the delicate area of migrants welcoming, promoting a sustainable model of hospitality and integration.

Among the objectives of the PIAM there is also the enhancement of the socio-cultural heritage of the areas interesting in the reception and integration of migrants.
